FP %1-3-6 is a protein foam concentrate containing hydrolysed protein and preservatives, together with a blend of surfactants to achieve maximum synergistic effect. The selected surfactant blend reduces both the surface tension of water and the interfacial tension between water and oil sufficiently to give a stable film on the fuel surface, resulting in fire-extinguishing rates superior to those obtained with synthetic-based compounds.

FP %1-3-6 is used in high-risk situations where hydrocarbons such as diesel fuel, gasoline or crude oil are stored, processed or transported. It is designed and recommended for fast fire knockdown to save human lives, in addition to preventing catastrophic fire development — particularly when used in fire-fighting vehicles at airports and fixed fire systems at heliports. It can also be used as a wetting agent against Class A/B fires, and is best suited for simultaneous use with compatible powders in twin-agent systems. FP %1-3-6 is principally recommended for fire protection in:

FP %1-3-6 Concentrate can be effectively applied using most conventional foam discharge equipment at 1% dilution with fresh, salt, or hard water. For optimum performance, water hardness should not exceed 500 ppm expressed as calcium and magnesium. Non-aspirating devices, such as handline water fog/stream nozzles or standard sprinkler heads, typically produce expansion ratios of 2:1 to 4:1, while medium-expansion discharge devices typically produce ratios of 20:1 to 60:1.

FP %1-3-6 is manufactured to rigorous quality control standards. After each production run, performance tests are carried out at AFMER Chemical's Performance Laboratories.

FP %1-3-6 is suitable for use in combination with:

• Soft or hard, fresh or seawater.
• Dry powder extinguishing agents, either separately or as twin-agent systems.
• Expanded FP foams applied to a fire in sequence or simultaneously.

Its properties do not change in the event of freezing; it recovers its original properties as soon as it thaws.

FP %1-3-6 is exceptionally stable in long-term storage. A shelf life of up to 10 years can be expected when stored properly in its original container. It is suitable for storage in steel tank bodies.
