What Is an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)?

An MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet / SDS) is an official document, compliant with international standards, that contains information about a chemical product's composition, physical and chemical properties, health and environmental effects, safe use, handling and storage conditions, and emergency response information. For products such as fire-fighting foam and chemicals, having an MSDS is a legal requirement for domestic and international shipments, customs processes, and end-user safety.
